Rules of Passive Form (Present Tense)

Passive Form Rules (Present Tense)


Present Indefinite:


Affirmative:
OBJ+AM/IS/ARE+V3

Example:
I am given a pen.
Mangoes are liked by you.
Mangoes are liked by him.

Note:
When the work is done by someone else then the sentence will be in passive form.

Negative:
OBJ+AM/IS/ARE+NOT+V3

Example:
I am not given a pen.
Mangoes are not liked by you.
Mangoes are not liked by him.

Note:
How to use AM/IS/ARE
AM= With I only.

IS= With only 3rd person singular numbers.

ARE= with remaining cases.

Present Continuous:


Affirmative:
OBJ+AM/IS/ARE+BEING+V3

Example:
I am being given a pen.
Mangoes are being liked by you.
Mangoes are being liked by him.

Negative:
OBJ+AM/IS/ARE+NOT+BEING+V3

Example:
I am not being given a pen.
Mangoes are not being liked by you.
Mangoes are not being liked by him.

Present Perfect:


Affirmative:
OBJ+HAS/HAVE+BEEN+V3

Example:
I have been given a pen.
Boys have been given a ball.
Sita has been gifted a pen.

Negative:
OBJ+HAS/HAVE+NOT+BEEN+V3

Example:
I have not been given a pen.
Boys have not been given a ball.
Sita has not been gifted a pen.


PASSIVE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE.
